that bracket is supposed to be top of the line, musta been a manufacturing flaw, that piece of steel may have been a little weak. I would bet that he will get a new one sent to him ASAP, maybe overnight if he uses his words correctly

Glad to hear, yeah a lift can make tons of difference, I forget, do you have a locker? If not, one in the front would give you a crazy amount of improvement. Just night and day difference.

And as far as Rob's upgrade, well, I'm sure the trac bar on a Dana 60 would be much stronger...

Well, since you're offering, it would be rude of me to refuse

still amazed that i managed to snap that steel.

really hoping my cheapskate stubborn self didn't do any permanent damage driving ~20miles home. drive shaft and fuel skid would rub on any left camber, or left turn.

calling clayton up soon to see if they'll take care of it nice and easy.

still don't know what i might have done to cause it. chimney rock trail isn't exactly challenging, and the sand ruts i was flexing in didn't seem that extreme.

yeah. i am really happy i didn't take those off. almost did before roger run so i could futilely try to keep up with the buggies.

i still had a lot of axle slop on the way home (top speed ~20mph for brief perfectly straight, flat (slight right camber) stretches of pavement), and now that it's light. omg the grinding i did on my rear driveshaft and fuel skid. oops.

clayton is impressing me. no questions asked, new bracket is on the way. then they start asking questions and request the failed bracket back so they can try to figure out how/why. i'm the first person that's ever broken this bracket. too bad it was on the pre-rocks part of chimney rock trail, heh.
