Chimney Rock Trail - Dec 4th @ 9a

Going to do a run through Chimney Rock Trail from the Bellota Ranch entrance through all the way back to Redington Road.

Meet at 9a, at the last Circle K on Tanque Verde. We'll head out for the trail at about 9:30a.

This is a very mild trail, if we get some early snow we might get to drive through some running water.

The toughest obstacle on this trail is actually trail-finding, its quite easy.

But, its almost inevitable you'll develop pin-striping from the desert plants that want to fondle your rig as you drive by.

Depending on stops we make, we should be back to civilization by 3p.

Sign-ups so far:

JK (skivviss)

I actaully like it better going the other way. Then you can play on chimney rock when you are done.

Great trail but it is a lot more fun and a lot more challenging if you run it the other way. A word of wisdom: The summer rains roughed the place up a bit. It was a good deal harder when I ran it last month than when I went in April. I actually got a bit of rock rash from a rock that had washed into one of the streambeds.

How about Saturday night run instead of Saturday day run?

Sounds good to me. No promises, but I'm in.

Is the Circle K on T.V. Loop still the last one, or did they build another after they cut down the hill before Wentworth and jammed those ungodly styro-condos in my old stomping ground?

@sean - yeah, the circle k kinda across from the remnants of the elementary school at tv and tv loop.

@chris - it is an easy trail. first time i ever ran it was with a bunch of stock toyota FJs. the toughest thing on the trail really is trail finding. there is an optional part that's like a mini-moab area that is as hard as you want it to be.
