Chimney rock trail night run 4 June

Ok gonna run the chimney rock trail at night. Meet time is 1800 hours on the 4th of June. Depart NO LATER THAN 1830. If you think are you going to be late then leave earlier. It should be just about dark when we hit the trailhead then head west back to bellota ranch road.

Probably no camping since fire restrictions are in place so no bon fires. But if you are interested we could all hang around the lanterns.

So far:

Me
78CJ (tucson off road)
RandyD (JKO)
Rich1340 (JKO)
Skivviss (JKO, TOR, City Profile)

Having never seen your jeep, and having only run the trail once with only a 2.5 lft, I would say no problem. It is a jeep after all, with a winch....

the problem might be his rectangular headlights. probably get them hung up on something!

chimney rock trail is easy, stock FJs go there for extreme adventure

night makes it seem more challenging in a jeep, but trail-finding is the toughest obstacle on this run.

My XJ made it when I had 2" of lift and no swaybar disconnects. It's an easy trail.

Do you have a roof rack? Those things tend to snag on trees

Entertaining thread... lol

But back to the original point I'm gonna try to make it, I'll know for sure soon.

And Chris, I think you would make it fine, I've done the trail a couple times in my xj which is on tiny 31's, and I thought it was pretty easy, I was even able to do some of the optional mini-moab section at the end thanks to some very good spotting, so I don't see why you'd have any problem at all.

a good saying is "don't sweat the small stuff...."
from an outsider I thought it was all in fun..

with that said... I want to go on a night run...
June 4th.... Son turns 21 on the 5th... so I'll have to stay in ABQ...
one day I will make it to Tucson.
