Martinez Cabin Trip - Jan 29 - meetup at 8a

Martinez Cabin is a scenic trail in the Florence Junction area. We'll travel through Box Canyon to the cabin for lunch and then back home. Both ways, going through some of the most amazing views in southern Arizona.

The meetup spot is the Minit Market in Catalina AZ at 8a, you can map to:

Minit Market, 3400 E Golder Ranch Dr, Tucson, AZ 85739

At about 8:30a we'll head up to Florence as a group, there is anther Minit Market in Florence we can top off fuel for.

This is an all day trail/excursion. Its likely we won't be getting back to pavement til right around sundown for the trek back home.

How tough is this trail? Will I be able to handle it with open diffs? I might be interested.

To just go to the cabin is easy beyond that gets more challenging. But that is a good way to gain some more experience.

the majority of the trip to Martinez Cabin is no more difficult then Redington Road. Only a very few spots that you actually 'need' 4wd, open diffs should be no problem at all.

with the short days, probably won't try to push any further then lunch at the cabin so we can be getting back to pavement around sunset.

i'll probably plan another run for the summer months to go all the way to the mine and the canyon loop. a run more like chiva falls in difficulty.

Well, I've done Chiva quite a few times in my XJ. I'll see if my brother is interested. Sounds like a neat trip!
