I've been messing with this stuff for a week now. I put a new master cylinder in my Jeep and stripped a nut. Replaced that nut and made flare after flare, new lines, more new lines, this thing still leaks. Luckily I carpool to work, but it was my turn this week and I'm gonna owe my buddy some beer.
Can anybody come over to Lakeside and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I did double flare them, and I even tried a bubble flare today to use a machine-made double flare to make sure it was square. Then I matched it up to the prop valve...hey waitaminute - that ****ing thing inside is SMOOSHED!
Anybody got a proportioning valve for a non-ABS Jeep, or even an adjustible block that takes all 3/8" fittings?

Are you using the 3/4 rounded brake fitting wrench? If not, I highly recommend it because the brass fittings are easy to round over and stop from having a tight fit.
Hopefully I'll have the replacement prop valve today. The fittings are actually steel, and I was using flare wrenches when I stripped the fitting in question. It was on so tight that I'm thinking that I was not at fault with the whole leaking business; maybe it got fubar'ed at the assembly line?
Thanks Chris for offering to help. I'm off on weekends, but I might have to take more time off if this doesn't work out.
If anybody has a "GOOD" flaring tool I could borrow, I could pay you back somehow. I'm gonna have to cut the line on the rear axle too - it's fused on there just like my front lines were and now that nut is stripped.

The prop valve arrived and it's almost as bad as the one I already have. To make matters worse, I'm gonna have to cut the lines off to get the old one out, and that means I need new lines. Again.
Jegs FTW! Wilwood prop combo valve and a coil of brakeline that should be easier to flare than the crap I got at Autozone. Happy birthday to me, somebody smack the crap outta me!

Actually, I had the same problem with my brake lines. I ended up using vice grips to bust the seal on the factory fitting but it didn't matter because I extended the rear lines and used flexible stainless steel line.
