Rug Road March 5 & 6

Ok springtime rug road run. Going to start in Mammoth head over the mountain, camp overnight in Turkey creek and probably come back west over the mountain to mammoth. Very easy trail that a stock jeep can make. Beautiful scenery, but just plain fun time to get out of the house, tell lies, bark at the moon. Bring the wifes, gf's, kids, dogs, cats, food and water.

When: March 5th overniter return 6th
Where: From Mammoth go over the mountain and back again
Why: Just because
Who: Me for starters.

I'm 99% there. I'm pretty sure my brother and his girlfriend are coming too, although they will be driving her ZJ instead of the Jeepster or MUTT.

I know that there are markers up there but I can't remember which ones. I know that you take copper creek road east out of Mammoth and that turns into the rug road. Pretty easy to stay on the trail.

here is randy's web page. I am pretty sure that he will be leading this band of hooligans out again. Rug Road

I'd be interested in going. I'm not familiar with the area at all, so where and when would we be meeting up?

Probably going to meet up at the Valero at Oracle and Golder Ranch road. From there drive up to Mammoth top off gas and then head east into the mountains. Last time we went out there were just four JK's and one was bone stock and he made it all the way. This is an easy run just going to be an overniter.
