Stage II Fire Restrictions (Closure Order 287)

Stage II applies to all Ranger districts that are now reopened and to those individuals who have been

approved for access into the few remaining closed areas.

Closure Orders may be viewed and printed in English and Spanish (pdfs)

If you are planning on hunting or participate in other shooting within the Forest this summer

please read the following Closure Order.
Fire Restrictions Include the Use of Firearms
Still can't shoot on Forest Service land and the "shooting areas" I have seen were still blocked off.

Chris, isn't much of the state pretty empty away from cities? I'd think a jeep could get you to a safe area to shoot.

Yeah but I still need to be respectful of nature and the laws.

yesterday at the wildcat areas along redington road there were a ton of shooters around sundown. the orange 'net' fences were gone however.

i swear the game and fish guy went by (wasn't close enough to really see the logo clearly) and did not stop.

not saying they were there legally for sure, but i was up near there for a couple hours and no sheriff/forest service/game and fish folks seemed to care.

Hmmm, maybe I will try and see what happens. I just hope I don't get a raging fine.

I fully agree but it was only recently I discovered AZ has stuff that can burn. I pretty much viewed it as desert with a big ditch in one corner. If they close parks is the rest of AZ affected?

I am not sure really. But I would imagine that if they feel it is bad enough to close the
state parks and forest then I should kinda follow their lead and watch my p's and q's.
