Jeep Owners, Where do you WHEEL?

I'm from Roanoke and I was wondering where there are some good places in Virginia to go four wheeling.

Figured that I could help you out here. Try either or both of these groups, they should be able to get you going.

Southwestern Virginia 4 Wheelers: These folks maintain the Potts Mountain OHV Trail, North of Roanoke.

Southwestern Virginia Four Wheelers :: Index

Star City Crawlers 4X4:

Never a good idea to go wheeling alone.

I mentioned Potts Mtn., there's also Boblett's Gap, Overstreet's Creek, Reed Creek, Shoe Creek, and Big Levels. There are events at Oak Ridge Estate (past site of many Camp Jeep VA events) during the year too, but it's private property the rest of the time.

Shoot me a pm with your first and last name, and your email address and I'll add you to my emailtrailride list.

So, what Jeep ya got? Have you wheeled before? Mods?

Be well,
Richard

Crozet is a pay to play park near Charlottesville, and I believe there are trails scattered all through the GW national forest too.

I forgot to mention that both of the groups I listed above are based out of Roanoke.

Be well,

George Washington National Forest is the best. Everything else is close to there.
I go a bit on Quantico when I can get away with it....

Shoe Creek mainly. There's little opportunity within 4 hrs of Hampton Roads.

Crabtree Falls mostly for public areas, but I mostly wheel on private land or there's an area near my dads on the powerlines I go. Technically you're not supposed to be out there, but I've run into guys from Dominion out there quite a few times and none of them have ever had a problem with it. I try and keep that spot quiet anyway just so I don't get idiots out there tearing things up to much and pissing the Dominion workers off.
