Why visit Washington? You have two choices. You can visit western Washington because it's rainy, cold, dark and moody. You get to see a lot of clouds and lots of water, maybe a mountain or two if you're lucky or you can visit the eastern side and see rolling hills and dirt but plenty of sunshine.

There's really nothing missing here, we have everything from ocean to mountains to desert. Rain 8-9 months but the summer more than makes up for it. Even an easy 3 hour drive to visit Canada.

My favorite spot to visit is Hurricane Ridge:

I saw you post in the Idaho forum, so you must be planning some sort of roadtrip. I suggested that you hit up North Idaho, so the best reason to go to Washington is its probably the easiest way to get to Idaho!

I think it would be a cool roadtrip to go up the coast through Oregon, which is very cool, hit up a rainforest by the washington coast, then turn east and head through north idaho. From there you can keep heading east if you're looking for a loooong trip. This way you hit the best part of Idaho (the north), the best part of Washington (the coast), all in a logical progression.

We get the best of all 4 seasons in Washington, there's always something to do.
