This official residence of the governor is located at 391 West Paces Ferry Road in downtown Atlanta. This Greek Revival-styled property was built in 1967. Its 18-acre grounds contain the 30-room, three-story building, which was designed by Thomas Bradbury. Formally opened on January 1, 1968, this mansion is the fourth mansion to be erected for such purposes.

Many people admire the exterior of the property. Its 24,000 square foot of space features the house adorned with 30 Doric columns around the porch. These 24-foot tall towering pillars were fashioned out of California redwoods. The mansion grounds features a tennis court, swimming pool, children?s playground, and a greenhouse. A Georgia marble fountain at the entrance completes this majestic fa?ade. Inside, the mansion houses furnishings that many consider to be museum-worthy in terms of quantity and quality.
