Considered as one of the busiest concert venues in the world, the Philips Arena has sold over 550,000 tickets in 2007 alone. But more than a place to chill and enjoy good music and performance, the arena is also a bustling center for sporting events.

The Philips Arena, completed in 1999, is an eighteen thousand-seater multi-purpose sports and recreation stadium located at downtown Atlanta in the state of Georgia. The arena is home to the Atlanta Hawks, one the National Basketball Association?s historic franchises. The arena is also the home of the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League and the Atlanta Dream of the Women?s National Basketball Association.

The arena has hosted several special sporting events such as the 2003 NBA All-Star Games and 2004 US Figure Skating Championships.
