The Sapelo Island Reserve and Reynolds Mansion is a state park and historic site in Sapelo Island, Georgia. It is noted as a unique destination in the famous ?Colonial Coast? of Georgia.
The Sapelo Island Reserve and Reynolds Mansion features the island, which is mostly a protected area, despite some parcels being privately owned. Most of Sapelo Island is a part of the Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve, while some other areas were made into the University of Georgia Marine Institute. The Reynolds Mansion composes most of the state park, which is originally a part of Thomas Spalding?s early 19th century plantation.
