The Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail is incomparable to the other ancient sites of Hawaii. It is bountiful of various cultural resources like the temples, fishponds, petroglyphs, and other sacred places. This was built in 2000 to preserve and protect the traditional culture of the native Hawaiians along with their natural resources.

The trail measures about 175 miles that come in corridor form packed with historical and cultural essences. It would make you pass through hundreds of ancient settlement sites of the race along with numerous mountain and land separations. You can also find a lot of coastal vegetations, habitat of the native sea turtles, birds that migrate, endangered endemic species of animals and plants altogether. There are also some culture events done once in a while in the place.
