The Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area is a state park and recreation area in Kamuela, Hawaii. It is best known for its beautiful beach.

A popular destination among locals and tourists alike, the Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area?s name, ?Hapuna?, literally translates to a spring or pool in Hawaiian. It is one of the few white sand beaches on the west coast of the Big Island and is named as the Best Beach in America by Dr Beach in 1993.

Offering 61.8 acres, the Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area is located adjacent to the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. A section of the Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail also runs through the park. Swimming and body surfing are the most popular activities at the park.
