King Kamehameha The Great is a Hawaiian King, who ruled from 1795 to 1819. He was able to consolidate the different islands of Hawaii.

The most notable thing about King Kamehameha the Great is that he was believed to be the King Arthur of Hawaii. Instead of pulling a sword from a stone, though, he was able to lift the Naha Stone, which was impossibly heavy, according to local folk lore.

The King Kamehameha the Great statue was created in 1963 in Italy as a commemoration to this leader?s greatness. However, it was only installed in 1997, in Big Island, Hawaii. The statue stands at 18 feet tall in a local park where tourists can stop, take photos, and even leave offerings.
