Also known as the City of Rocks National Preserve or the Silent City of Rocks, this national reserve site and park is a popular spot for rock climbing enthusiasts and its unusual, yet beautiful rock formations. Geologic formations made of granite, as well as a varied flora and fauna call this area their home.

City of Rocks was first a home to Native American tribes. Soon enough, the area was noticed by immigrants. Around 1843, wagons came in from all over the country to visit during the summer months.

The City of Rocks became a National Reserve in 1988 through the Arizona-Idaho Conservation Act of 1988. It is now under the care of the National Park Service.
Visitors can either take the hiking trails or drive around to see the natural wonders.
