Eagle Island State Park is a 545-acre day park where visitors can enjoy many things like swimming, having a picnic, hiking, playing golf, and horseback riding. Before Eagle Island became a park that it is now, the land was used for the Eagle Island Prison Farm to the Idaho Department of Lands. The park was established in 1977 when the Idaho Department of Correction had turned over the land to the state. As a response on the poll involving how to make use of the land, the Land Board voted for the property to be used and managed as Eagle Island State Park.
