The Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival is celebrated right at the grounds of the University of Idaho for more than 40 years now. It features the mixes skills of jazz talents of the students of the school coming from various levels of education. It ranges from elementary up to the tertiary level. It only has one goal and that is to create a musical event that would pay tribute to the elegance of jazz.

It only started being a one-day festivity in the past but now it has grown to last for a four-day trip. Its visitors would basically be comprised of musicians and other experts in the field. The greatest jazz artists of the generation also conduct workshops during the event.
