Built in 1886 by William J. McConnell, a Governor of Idaho and one of the state’s top merchants, the McConnell Mansion is now a private museum managed by the Latah County Historical Museum. The mansion’s main floor hosts a variety of rooms that showcase a certain time period from the 1900’s till the 1930’s. On the second floor, visitors may enjoy a wide range of hands-on activities, many of which are great for kids, and explore the master’s bedroom, which is beautifully restored and houses various other exhibits. Outside the mansion, visitors may enjoy taking a pleasant stroll and partaking in cool refreshments during the summer.
