Route of the Hiawatha Bike Trail Rating: None

Idaho Attractions / Landmarks / Places > Mullan Email This Bookmark Print
The route of the Hiawatha Bike Trail is an old rail bed converted to a bike path with shuttles available to take riders back up to the top. There are several tunnels, including one that is over a mile long that riders can pedal through. Lights (brighter is better) are recommended as the Idaho/Montana border is marked midway through the long tunnel. Starting at Mullen allows riders to ride down the light grade that last throughout most of the trip. Bring water and snacks and tires suitable for a dirt/gravel path. There are also several train trestles to cross and views of the mountains and forest.
