Argyle Lake State Park is a state recreational area and popular fishing venue located in Colchester, Illinois. It is part of the Illinois State Parks system and is managed by the state through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

The Argyle Lake State Park is a 1,700 acre recreational area is located in the area previously known as Argyle Hollow, an earl part of the old stage route between Galena and Beardstown. The land was purchased by the state from local famers and homesteaders in 1948 and built the dam that created the Argyle Lake.

Argyle Lake State Park features many recreational facilities and opportunities for the park visitors. The 93 acre lake offers fishing and boating, there are picnic, hiking, and camping facilities in the park as well.
