Channahon State Park is a state park and recreational facility and the official Illinois trailhead of the Illinois and Michigan Canal State Trail. It is currently operated by the state through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

Previously known as the Channahon State Parkway, the Channahon State Park provides access to the restored locks of the historic Illinois and Michigan Canal. The canal itself was closed in 1933 after the opening of the modern Illinois Waterway. The state park and the state trail was created to protect the historical heritage of the site and its surrounding environs.

The Channahon State Park offers many opportunities for outdoor recreation including camping, fishing, hiking, canoeing, and nature walks. Interpreters are on site four days a week to provide information about the history of the site.
