The Silver Springs State Fish & Wildlife Area is a state park and wildlife preserve in Yorkville, Illinois. It offers 1350 acres of area.
The Silver Springs State Fish & Wildlife Area takes its name after a natural spring found along the south end trail of the park. When light hits the water, it appears to shimmer like silver, thus the name. It is also noted for not freezing even through the coldest of winter months.
The Silver Springs State Fish & Wildlife Area is also home to four bodies of water, two of which are artificial lakes (Loon and Beaver Lakes). The site is also divided by the Fox River.
Visitors of the Silver Springs State Fish & Wildlife Area can enjoy camping, hiking, boating, picnicking, fishing, hunting, and a variety of winter sports.
