With a name as noble as its history, the Soldier Field in Chicago Bears is one of the iconic stadiums of the National Football League, or NFL. It is currently the home of the Chicago Bears, the NFL’s most storied franchise.

One of the oldest and still-operational stadiums in the United States, Soldier Field was designed in 1919 and opened on October 9, 1924, the 53rd anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire. The stadium was built as a memorial to American soldiers who died in wars, hence the name. The dedication to fallen soldiers was formalized in 1926 during the annual Army-Navy game. The stadium was modeled after the Greco-Roman architecture, employing Doric columns as main architectural element.

Aside from holding football games, the stadium is also used in concerts, conventions, shows, and other social functions.
