The Splashdown Family Water Park is owned by the municipal government in East Peoria. This three-acre water park boasts of its own lazy river, an activity pool for adults, and the Wild River tube slide. Children, on the other hand, are sure to have fun at the kiddie pool and with the park?s 3-story tree house. What makes this water park unique, however, is its interactive water play area, which encourages visitors to explore their imagination and have fun with the various hands-on water effects available.

The water park also regularly offers swimming lessons and uses the Learn to Swim program of the American Red Cross. This program is composed of five different levels and is most appropriate for four to fourteen-year-old students. There are separate and private lessons and courses available as well for kids under three years of age and adults. For those unsure of their skill level in swimming, the park also has a Free Evaluation Day to assess a person?s swimming experience and skill level at zero cost.
