The Walnut Point State Park is a state park and recreation area in Oakland, Illinois. It is located 20 miles northeast of Charleston and covers 671 acres of area.

Established in 1968, the Walnut Point State Park is named after Walnut Point, which is the first pioneer settlement in the county established in 1830. The settlement no longer existsoffers, but it is located about 2 miles from the park. Thanks to its natural setting, it offers a good amount of recreational opportunities including fishing, hunting, hiking, picnicking, camping, and even cross-country skiing.

Despite being designed to cater to various recreational activities, the Walnut Point State Park also takes pride of its wonderful natural scene. It is home to extensive wooded acres as well as various kinds of wildlife.
