The Wolf Creek State Park is a state park, natural monument, and recreation area in Windsor, Illinois. The park is located just minutes away from Decatur, Springfield, Effingham, and Champaign.
Facing the Eagle Creek site which is located just across the Lake Shelbyville, the Wolf Creek State Park offers 25,300 acres of area. It was created as a result of the Shelbyville Reservoirs Project which was completed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. It initially offered primitive camping facilities upon being opened to the public in 1972, but it later grew to offer much more recreational opportunities as time went by.
Today, visitors of the Wolf Creek State Park can enjoy boating, fishing, picnicking, swimming, hiking, and horseback riding at the site.
