Basically a living history museum in Fishers, Indiana, Conner Prairie is a site where visitors can learn about the 19th century history of the area. Its name was taken from its main highlight, the William Conner home, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Eli Lilly, a pharmaceutical executive, worked with Earlham College in creating Conner Prairie in the 1930s. He restored other outbuildings that are related to the project and built an 1836 village.

Today, Conner Prairie is divided into different sections, depicting various historical eras. There are costumed staff members to re-enact the way of life in the specific time frame, showing visitors history as if they’ve traveled back in time. With their hands on activities, guests can really learn a lot from a trip to Conner Prairie.
