The Elkhart County Historical Museum is situated in Rush Memorial Center in Bristol Indiana. The building houses the county?s first consolidated school. A working genealogy library is in this museum. The museum is open every Tuesday to Saturday at 9a.m to 5p.m EST.

On display are over 20,000 artifacts arranged by theme and time period. Treasures of the past , showcases mid 1800?s to early 1900?s the cottage presents a home from the turn of the century. The children?s room shows school and childhood artifacts complete with a schoolhouse. The emporium ? displays yesteryears? store and shops like dressmaker and barber shops. The memorial room includes artifacts from the civil war soldiers. The township room gives tribute 16 townships of Elkhart County. Native Americn Hallways contain ome geology and a railroad piece. The depot depicts items related to the industry. The not-so-long-ago room boasts of the mid 20th century abode. The Victorian room offers elaborate furnishings from that era. The library features local genealogies and history. The auditorium is a function room of sorts. Throughout the year, numerous tourists visit the museum.
