The Indiana University Art Museum itself is already an artwork. The structure was designed by world renowned architect I.M. Pei. The soaring triangular atrium is already an attraction by itself. The grounds of the museum are 152 acres wide and have been modified so it can adapt to the look of museum building. There is also a garden area that utilizes features in the building grounds to make illustrations and examples of public art so that even the exterior of the museum is a work of art.

The galleries are full of amazing art pieces from around the world. The museum holds over 54,000 artworks. Collections include paintings and sculptures of different cultures from different countries around the world. The museum holds extraordinary works by Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, Rembrandt and several renowned artists. The European collection is arranged by chronology from 1800 to 1945 and includes works of Aristotle and other masters. The museum also has considerable number of Asian art pieces which are over 5,000 pieces dating back to 4,000 years. Contemporary art is also very popular to the visitors.
