The Snite Museum of Art is one of the most known museums in the State. It was named after Fred Snite who funded money along with his family to make a museum for his son?s exhibits. The museum is composed of different galleries. One of its galleries is the Alsdorf gallery which is composed of ancient and medieval art.

Another gallery is the Knott-Beckman Gallery which shows the baroque art and Renaissance art. The Beardsley Gallery shows the 20th century art, the Higgins Gallery for 19th and 20th Century American Art, and decorative arts for Travis court. The museum has an overall collection of 24,000 works.

The museum is open from 10 am to 4 pm every Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 am to 5 pm from Thursdays to Saturdays, and 1pm to 5pm every Sunday. Admission is free for everyone.
