The Des Moines Art Center is an art museum established in 1948 and houses an extensive collection of art pieces. From paintings, sculptures, mixed media, and even modern art, visitors can see them all in the art center.

The Des Moines Art Center is recognized as a world-class museum by international art critics. Although the museum is diverse in its permanent collection of artwork, it places an emphasis on contemporary art, particularly of works from the nineteenth century to the present. Individual collections include the Louise Noun Collection of Art by Women, Irma and Julian Brody Collection, and the Nathan Emory Coffin Collection.
