Enjoy the majestic beauty of the Iowa countryside at the Elk Rock State Park in Marion County, Iowa. It is located at the banks of Red Rock Reservoir and just a few miles away from the cities of Knoxville and Pleasantville.

This state park is divided into two areas, a main area and the ?Mile Long Bridge? area. The latter is smaller but it is complete with amenities for visitors such as shelters, cabins, restrooms, and campsites. The main area has likewise several facilities for campers and outdoor adventurers. It contains the park visitor center, park trails, and two boat ramps.

The park area has been inhabited by Native Americans for over a thousand years. The ruins of the Red Rock town now lie at the bottom of the reservoir. The park is open for visitors who want to enjoy fishing, boating, and swimming in the Red Rock Lake, while the park forests are open for camping, picnicking and hiking.
