The Forest Park Museum is devoted to presenting displays regarding the area?s local natural history. It houses an arboretum section that boasts of trees coming from the different parts of the United States. Within the Museum, visitors can also views come examples of the early types of transportation, farm equipment, and mining tools.

Visitors will surely get overwhelming sights as the Museum displays over 1000 different species of native trees, woodland area, shrubs, prairie, and a butterfly garden that was developed in the 1940?s.

There are also small museums to enjoy like the Hastie Hall, which focuses on Dallas County?s history. Other interesting areas within the site include the Alton one room school house, the Wagner Scale House, and the Grabenhorst 1860?s Log Cabin.
