If you are the naturalist type, Hickory Hills Park is the right one for you. This 190 acre natural park is situated on the northeastern side of the city of Iowa. The whole park is composed of a v vast variety of terrain, including forests, wetland, and a prairie. The serene Ralston Creek serves as the centerpiece for these areas.
Managed by the Iowa City Government, with assistance from the Friends of Hickory Hill Park organization, the park started out as a 40 acre piece of land/ through several other acquisitions by the city government, the park grew to its current size.
Today, the park is visited by a wide variety of people, including hikers, bikers and joggers. Hickory Hill Park is also popular for families wishing to spend a nice day together.
