Lake Darling State Park is named after J.N ?Ding? Darling, a champion conservationist and a cartoonist of the Des Moines Register during the early part f the century. Lake Darling State Park includes almost 18 miles of shoreline of a charming 302-acre lake. Its land area is 417 acre. Lake Darling State Park has an area suitable for family picnics and camp cabins, playground equipment, modern restroom and a beach. A variety of fish and aquatic life lives at the lake.

Lake Darling State Park is a perfect place for family cook out. The view overlooking the lake is breathtaking. It makes family outings an affair to look forward to. Camping cabins can be rented on a maximum of two nights stay. A modern restroom and shower building is just around the corner. Lake Darling State Park has campsites with electrical hook ups.
