The Putnam Museum of History and Natural Science has six permanent exhibits: the Asian Gallery, the Hall of Mammals, the View Space Exhibit, the Black Earth Big River exhibit, the River, Prairie & People exhibit, the Ocean Experience exhibit and last but not the least, the Unearthing Ancient Egypt exhibit, which has a 3,000-year-old mummy as its centrepiece.

At the Asian Gallery, viewers are sure to be amazed with the treasures on display, all of which are precious enough to decorate the Forbidden City?s hidden jewel, the Emperor?s Palace. Also of interest is an exquisite replica of a 1700?s Shinto shrine. The Ocean Experience room, on the other hand, educates the public about the different ecosystems that exist underwater, ranging from live coral reefs to mysterious tidal pools. In the Black Earth, Big River area, viewers are able to enjoy encounter with numerous species of Mississippi River fish swimming in a marsh-like 718-gallon aquarium.

Visitors need only to add $3 to their admission in order to enjoy the museum?s IMAX theatre.
