The main floor of the store was intended for general dry goods and men?s supplies, the whole second floor was for the display of women?s costumes, the third floor was for household fabric supplies such as beddings, curtains, and rugs. The top floor didn?t have an immediate use however was kept for future expansion. The building became an important part of the history and development of the city of Clinton.
