The Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery is a museum, art gallery, and memorial all rolled into one. Its primary mission is to serve as one of the finest repositories for all kinds of artefacts that can help document and immortalize the life and work of artist Birger Sandzén.
As a Swedish immigrant that led such a rich and fulfilling life, the works and personal life of Sandzen is such that he’s not only considered an important figure by artists but also by family sociologists and cultural historians.
Majority of the works and artefacts displayed at the site belong to the Margaret S. Greenough Trust and the Birger Sandzén Memorial Foundation. A good portion of the artefacts also has to do with Alfrida Sandzén as well as Pelham and Margaret Greenough and their family relations.
