Also known as the John Fenton Pratt Ranch, the Cottonwood Ranch is a historic site in Hoxie, Kansas. It was originally owned by John Fenton’s father, Abraham Pratt. The family was from Yorkshire, England and settled in Kansas after the older Pratt learned more about the New World by visiting first during the Colorado Gold Rush.

The Cottonwood Ranch was further developed by John Fenton Pratt. He built a Yorkshire style house with stained glass windows, making the structure quite a unique one in the area. He also raised sheep in the ranch, which is not the most common practice in Kansas.

The Cottonwood Ranch was listed in 1983 in the National Register of Historic Places. It is now owned by the state and is operated as a historic house museum.
