The Dane G. Hansen Memorial Plaza was given birth by the members of the board of the foundation that goes by the same name. It serves as memorial to the Hansen Family to render tribute to the entire area of Kansas various educational and cultural opportunities to learn from. It made a tremendous contribution to the change that happened in its immediate community when it was eventually completed in 1972.

The actual plaza is embraced with an amazing landscaping design that is separated into quadrants. Two of these said quadrants are intended for its art gallery and museum purposes. Its designers were Kiene and Bradley from Topeka. It is finely carpeted that you can consider it as the nicest structure made in the immediate area.
