Here is a tasty pizza trivia for pizza lovers out there. The original Pizza Hut building was actually a hut!

During the 1950s, the pizza craze was sweeping all over United States. Two young students attending the University of Wichita, brothers Frank and Dan Carney, decided to join this hot craze. They opened the very first Pizza Hut restaurant on June 15, 1958 in a small brick house inside the university grounds. According to lore, the building signage could only fit nine letters. The brothers wanted to include the word ?Pizza? so only three letters were left. A relative suggested they add the word ?hut? since their restaurant looked very much like hut. Pizza Hut was born and the rest was history.

The historic building is now part of the Wichita State University.
