The Santa Fe Trail Center Museum and Library is found in the western part of Larned which tells the entire story of the place. It was also called before as the Santa Fe Trail. It is considered as an outdoor museum with some sod and dugout homes with a schoolhouse that is only made up of a single room. The attraction is one unique place that helps preserve the artifacts and other manuscript that blend all the cultures found along the major trail.

The museum has collections that can count to about 35,000 artifacts, whether cultural, archaeological and historical. All its collections are primarily related to the era of the trail and the early settlement that happened in the place way back during the 1900s.
