The Wichita Riverfest is an event that celebrates its 40th anniversary by year 2011. It is one of the longest running festivals that is being held right in the state. It is made up of nine days in totality with about 60 activities to enjoy and entertain. It is composed of musical presentations, several fireworks displays, exhibits that are dynamic, various children activities, parade, shopping carts and a lot of food courts.

It also features about a hundred hours when it comes to the musical presentations. The performers are usually joined in by almost 40 bands and it is the only big event held right in the Midwest. It all happens in the month of May. It has become a very popular event in the state.
