The Breaks Interstate Park is an interstate park under the joint management of the states of Kentucky and Virginia. It is located at the northeastern terminus of Pine Mountain.

Covering over four thousand acres of woodland, the Breaks Interstate Park is one of the only two interstate parks in the United States. It features a 1600 foot deep and 5 miles long canyon, which is also one of the longest and deepest among those found east of the Mississippi River, helping it become known as the “Grand Canyon of the South”.

Visitors of the Breaks Interstate Park can easily enjoy hiking, biking, horseback riding, birding, canoeing, fishing, swimming, whitewater rafting, and golfing. Regular events are also held at its ampitheater and there’s also a museum located at the park.
