A United States National Historical Park straddling the borders of Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia, the Cumberland Gap National Historic Park features the natural break in the Appalachian Mountains. It was originally used by Native Americans, following the numerous various species of migratory animals that follows the trail to move from north to south every year. It was initially a fertile hunting grounds by the natives, which later became a primary rout for settlers that are moving to Kentucky around the late 1700s.

The Cumberland Gap National Historical Park preserves the historic and environmental aspects of the site. It offers tours to the Gap Cave (aka Cudjo’s Cave) and through the old Hensley Settlement. They also offer demonstrations of how life was like back then for settlers. Music festivals area also held here.
