The Dr. Thomas Walker State Historic Site is a state park and historic site in Barbourville, Kentucky. It honors and commemorates the first frontiersman in Kentucky, Dr. Thomas Walker.

Daniel Boone may be the most famous pioneer of Kentucky, but Dr. Thomas Walker settled in the area seventeen years before Boone did. He was a surveyor and physician who led the first expedition through the Cumberland Gap in 1750. An agent of the Loyal Land Company of Virginia, Dr. Walker explored the western wilderness in search of land that is ideal for settlement. He gave the Cumberland River its name and built the first cabin in Kentucky (a replica of which can be found at the site today).

Visitors of the Dr. Thomas Walker State Historic Site can enjoy several things at the site including horseshoeing, miniature golfing, and picnicking. Tours for the replica cabin and surrounding grounds are also available.
