The E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park is a state park and recreation area in Louisville, Kentucky. It is touted as an ideal urban location for gatherings and recreational activities.
Named after the former Jefferson County Judge Executive Erbon Powers ?Tom? Sawyer, the E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park was named in honor of his death in 1969 while still in office. He was also the father of the famous journalist Diane Sawyer.
The E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park offers 513 acres for outdoor recreation. It is quite unique for its model airplane field, BMX track (which hosts the annual National Grand Championships), and an archery range. There?s also 2.25 miles? worth of trails that is perfect for both hikers and bikers.
