The John James Audubon State Park is a state park and recreation area in Henderson, Kentucky. It is also a historic site listed on the National Register of Historic Places and declared as a US Historic District.
Originally a Civilian Conservation Corps base known as the Camp Cromwell, the John James Audubon State Park was started in 1934. It currently contains about 700 acres of hilly forests and several other kinds of natural habitats.
Named after John James Audubon, a noted naturalist, painter, and ornithologist who also became a Henderson resident from 1810 to 1819, the John James Audubon State Park?s main attraction is the Audubon Museum. It is home to one of the largest collections of original Audubon works.
