Built to accommodate the growing state government in 1905, the Kentucky State Capitol is the fourth structure to serve such purpose for the state. The first two structures burned down, and the third proved to be too small for the modern needs of the local government.

Today, the Kentucky State Capitol houses the three branches of its local government. It is where the governor’s offices can be found, as well as the state secretary’s and the attorney general’s (on the first floor). It is also where the offices of some high level legislators are placed.

The Kentucky State Capitol used to be open for all, but today, some security measures are already exercised on visitors who don’t have proper state credentials.
